COO, Partner
Chief of Customer Integration
Gabriela joined Optimaize in 2006 as a junior software developer and now brings 16 years of experience in application and server development to the company. As COO, Gabriela oversees day-to-day operations since 2018, and leads large-scale customer integrations for streamlined and efficient processes. Gabriela holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance, and both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Computer Science.
Sasha ARN
CFO, Partner
Sasha joined Optimaize as CFO in 2024, and plays a crucial role in strategic business development. His career began in 1991 as a trainee at a Swiss bank. After studying business administration, he held positions as a key account manager at Banks and IT companies, then went on to found his own media agency. After growing it and acquiring another media agency to merge, he optimized and sold the company with great success.
Andrej ARN
CTO, Partner, Founder
Andrej founded the company in 2000. He is passionate about seeing newly developed software solutions deployed for the benefit of millions of end customers. Prior to starting Optimaize, Andrej began his career as a trainee at a Swiss bank in 1993, then developed the first content management system at the Swiss Stock Exchange for its websites, and worked as freelancer on numerous projects.
Romina ANDRA
Chief Data Officer
Romina joined Optimaize in 2023 and brings a strong combination of linguistic expertise, technical curiosity, and a practical problem-solving mindset. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature, a Master of Arts degree completed in London, and a postgraduate qualification in IT. She leads the Data Research Team in gathering, classifying, and validating PII and name data, helping us deliver high-quality semantic entity parsing and matching services.
26 Years Focused on Names
Made our long-established address validation available as an online API for verifying and standardizing postal addresses worldwide.
Launched VOP (Verification of Payee) to confirm beneficiary account details and reduce payment fraud.
After years as an on-premise product, the people-records index evolved into SearchCluster: a self-service cloud platform with AI schema detection, semantic type mapping, and entity grouping.
Introduced record-level encryption (AES-128, then AES-256), enabling semantic search over fully encrypted person data.
Released the first version of NameAPI Index, the turn-key solution for indexing and searching people records with intelligent entity matching — the foundation of today’s SearchCluster.
Massive expansion of the worldwide name dictionaries and statistical name data, powering more accurate parsing and matching.
Opened the core engine to the public as NameAPI: freemium web services for name parsing, matching, genderizing, and culture classification.
Rebuilt the name dictionaries on graph technology with relations between names — still the foundation of name parsing and matching today.
Introduced the Risk Detector product to identify and flag fake customer records.
Narrowed the company focus exclusively to name-related products and founded a dedicated data research team, working with native-speaking freelancers around the world to collect and classify names, name structures, and patterns.
Decided to build software for handling people’s names, opened the development office in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and launched NamepediA, the public name platform that crowd-sources improvements to the name dictionaries.
