Syntax check is not enough
RFC compliance tells you the address could exist — not whether the inbox is functional, who owns it, or whether it's disposable.
Identity signal
A business e-mail typically encodes the owner's name. Extracting it adds an identity field you didn't have to ask for.
Matching is not equality
j.smith@gmail.com and jsmith@gmail.com are not equal — but they may well be the same person. Six-level matching captures that nuance.
